Who sports physiotherapy is for
Sports physiotherapy is appropriate for gym users, runners, field-sport athletes, CrossFit and HYROX participants, recreational athletes and active people dealing with a new injury, recurring pain or reduced confidence in training.
What happens in an assessment
Your first appointment includes a detailed history, movement and strength testing, an explanation of the likely contributing factors, treatment where appropriate and a clear plan. The aim is to leave you knowing what is going on, what you can keep doing and what needs to change.
Treatment and rehabilitation
Care may include hands-on treatment, exercise rehabilitation, strength development, graded exposure, training modification and objective retesting. The specific approach depends on your presentation, goals and response to treatment.
When a structured programme may help
Some injuries need more than occasional appointments. Where appropriate, Tom offers four, eight and twelve-week rehabilitation pathways with weekly physiotherapy, app-based exercises through TrueCoach and planned progression back to training or sport.
